Hi guys,

Just wanted to update considering how long it's been (and that general community participation seemed to have dwindled a bit).

Rutgers is going well, I'm currently pursuing studies in Linguistics and Mathematics (and topics that bridge the two, including ones in Computer Science). I've found that they, like fashion, possess aesthetic qualities and yield beautiful results, however less tangible and more abstract.

I still draw a bit in my free time, but I'm seriously too busy to ever complete anything that's more than a quick half sketch in the margins of a returned quiz or homework. And I don't have a scanner (and I'm lethargic).

In any case, I just wanted to say hey to those that are still listening.

I have received anonymous complaint about LBM's sudden freeze. As you know, I don't exactly have time to cover seasons anymore, but I encourage anyone to pick up the ball and try their hand at running it!

I can judge every now and then (and may require reminders). I would recommend that there at least be a judge or two that have either experience in much style.com surfing and/or fashion illustrating. Moreover, I recommend someone who will committedly finish the season to its end and will deliver an exciting result (with some exciting critique(!)).

Hei everyone.

Hope you're enjoying the start of break. I'll be able to once finals are over on the 17th. I have been slaving over since six weeks ago (lol).

This journal is to address some unanswered questions and changes that have happened over the past few months.

Fashion reading (as I call it... style.com surfing) and fashion illustrating is my hobby and it's fun keeping at it and seeing how my thought processes about fashion change. Style.com and NYTimes.com continue to be hot sites for me.

But the context has changed a little. Rutgers and my academics here have become much more rigorous and intense. I draw ever closer to the deadline of admission into Rutgers Business School--a two year program starting junior year that I've been trying to get into, in which I have to complete very challenging eligibility courses.

I am, of near certainty, currently unsuited to revive the flames of LBM for the next season. Maybe there will be a day that I turn back to my neat competition--which I love dearly--but it does not seem in near sight.

For this I am sorry.

My suggestions to you? If anyone's motivated or interested in running LBM (or, even more generally, a fashion illustration competition), pick up the slack and run the competition on your own. It's real fun. My input would be that the one running it should emphasize the competitors' development in fashion illustration. With everything else, well, you can do anything and make it fun and fair (enough).

If no one does, maybe we'll wait for a day when I want to go back to running it. I sure as hell had a great time doing it.
